Unashamed

Unashamed
Sunday 11/19/06
Study passage: Romans 1:16

Have you ever felt embarrassed to be around someone before? When someone’s ashamed it means that someone is hesitant or unwilling to do something, or to be around someone, because you fear that in doing so it may result in receiving humiliation or shame. In the bible there were certain people who didn’t want to be openly associated with Jesus. If they had, they would have been cast out of the synagogue. Many people don’t want to choose sides if it means that one group is going to dislike them. Remember, Jesus was hated by the world, not received by them, and to become a follower of Christ meant that a person would also enter into that same kind of persecution as He did. Even today, followers of Jesus are ridiculed, teased, and treated as social outcasts because they choose to follow the one whom this sinful world crucified. Join us as we learn more.
