Reproached for the name of Christ

Study passage: 1 Peter 4:14

Today we are going to learn about being reproached for the name of Christ. When you preach and teach the bible to people, and they get upset at what they hear, or disapprove of the things you are doing, what is happening is you are being reproached for the name of Christ. The religious leaders of the day wanted the disciples to stop preaching and teaching the things of Jesus, but they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus daily. Obviously, people who reject the truth of the Holy Scriptures are not going to receive those who preach it. They may cast your name out as evil, they may harass and persecute you, they might even try to stop you from doing the thing that God has called you to do, but remember, when they do this, you are very blessed. The Spirit of God rests on you. Jesus was murdered and put on a cross by those who rejected the truth. His disciples are also going to enter into these same kinds of reproaches, because the world doesn’t receive the truth of scripture. Instead they oppose it, reject it, and fight against it. People who speak evil about those who preach from the Word of God, are in all reality speaking evil about the things of the bible. Join us as we learn more.
