A boaster is someone who brags. It's a cause for pride, or to puff one's self up in speech. To puff up means to swell with pride or excessive praise. The Apostle Paul warned the church not to be puffed up. In the Corinthian Church it appears that their was some spiritual pride happening. There was fornication happening among them, but instead of expelling him, the church was filled with pride. No different from false churches today who have a lot of people coming to their religious bodies, yet they have fornicators, homosexuals and other wickedness happening among them. They actually glory in their shame. That's spiritual pride. Like a woman preacher who continues to preach even though it is a shame for her to do such things. They are arrogant and haughty, lifting themselves over the commands of the Lord. God HATES pride. Join us as we learn more.
