To blaspheme is to speak of or address Jesus or the things of God with irreverence. It's showing lack of respect or contempt for the things of God. Jesus was honoring His heavenly Father, yet the Jews were trying to accuse Jesus of blasphemy. The Scribes were calling Jesus the devil. Jesus Christ is filled with the Holy Spirit yet they were ascribing the attributes of God and the good things Jesus was doing to the devil. Jesus was teaching that those who blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
